چکیده

Abstract Aim The aim is to describe the laparoscopic surgical technique of eTEP with 3 trocars from upper port in a 52-year-old male patient who presented small ventral hernias Material & Methods Recently, hernia repair, Rives-Stoppa e-TEP eventroplasty (eTEP-RS) has been introduced. First, 2 subcostal incisions are made. By introducing dissector balloon through both retromuscular spaces up linea arcuata, space exposed. Great care must be taken preserve neurovascular bundles at semilunar line. A 5mm trocar placed on right flank perfom epigastric crossover maniobre by incising medial aspect rigth posterior sheath. dissection left performed. midline progressed retzius, completing Rives space. sacs dissected and reduced. Finally, rectus sheaths alba sutured 2/0 absorbable self-locking continuous barb suture mesh Results was discharged next postoperative day good pain control. To date, he does not present data recurrence. Conclusions repair abdominal wall defects via endoscopic three feasible reproducible that meets criteria ideal open surgery safe for patient. In addition, it offers advantages such as less pain, need analgesia, favors rapid recovery, added an excellent aesthetic result.

Conversion to Stoppa Procedure in Laparoscopic Totally Extraperitoneal Inguinal Hernia Repair

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Conversion to open surgery is an important problem, especially during the learning curve of laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal (TEP) inguinal hernia repair. METHODS Here, we discuss conversion to the Stoppa procedure during laparoscopic TEP inguinal hernia repair. Outcomes of patients who underwent conversion to an open approach during laparoscopic TEP inguinal her...

Outcome of Laparoscopic Totally Extraperitoneal Hernioplasty for Inguinal Hernia.

BACKGROUND Hernioplasty for Inguinal hernia is one of the commonest operations performed in general surgical wards. More recently, interest has waxed and waned regarding the minimally invasive approach to hernioplasty. This study was carried out to assess the management outcome of minimally invasive hernioplasty (Totally extra-peritoneal approach) as the treatment of choice for uncomplicated (i...

Learning curve for laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal repair of inguinal hernia.

BACKGROUND Laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal (TEP) repair has been accepted as a popular procedure for inguinal hernia repair, but surgeons still encounter technical difficulties owing to unfamiliar pelvic anatomy and limited working space. We sought to estimate the learning curve for laparoscopic TEP repair without supervision. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of pa...

Minilaparoscopic Technique for Inguinal Hernia Repair Combining Transabdominal Pre-Peritoneal and Totally Extraperitoneal Approaches

INTRODUCTION Endoscopic surgical repair of inguinal hernia is currently conducted using 2 techniques: the totally extraperitoneal (TEP) and the transabdominal (TAPP) hernia repair. The TEP procedure is technically advantageous, because of the use of no mesh fixation and the elimination of the peritoneal flap, leading to less postoperative pain and faster recovery. The drawback is that TEP is no...

Modified rives-stoppa repair for abdominal incisional hernias

Incisional hernias are a prevalent problem in abdominal surgery and occur in 11% of patients who undergo laparotomy. Primary suture closure of incisional hernias results in a 31%-58% chance of recurrence. The addition of a prosthetic mesh implant decreases recurrence rates to 8%-10%. Popularized in Europe by Rives and Stoppa, the sublay technique has proven to be very effective, with low recurr...
